Best Italian Restaurants in Kuala Lumpur 2014, Malaysia

We do love a good Italian meal and lucky for us there are some fabulous chefs around the city making pasta from scratch and offering up a good variety of Italian fare, from strictly traditional to modern versions of classic recipes. Here's our pick of: 

Le Midi, Bangsar Shopping Centre - We love that Chef Andrea sources local ingredients and turns them into magical creations. He makes some of the most tender gnocchi in the city and the restaurant benefits from gorgeous city views.

La Scala, City Centre - This restaurant is worth visiting just to check out the stylish interior design. A roof terrace captures glittering views of the Twin Towers and KL Tower and, the chef is committed (almost fanatically - we love that) to serving authentic Italian dishes - no compromises.

Marini's on 57, KLCC - Owning the best views in the city, this sky dining restaurant also features modern Italian cuisine. The team here have the luxury of importing only the highest quality ingredients from around the world. Get your wallets out though - for these views and standards you must pay.

La Risata, Ampang - This neighbourhood restaurant is family friendly offering good quality comfort food. The new guest chef has some exciting things in store for the upstairs bar, so stay tuned!

Villa Danieli, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur - Making full use of their wood fired oven, this Italian restaurant, which resembles a villa from the Tuscan countryside, can make everything from starter, to main and even dessert in the oven.

Sassorosso - We love the Duck Confit, Gorgonzola Gnocchi, Lamb Noisettes, Creme Brulee... the list goes on, but we too especially appreciate the unique collection of well-chosen fine wines in the cellar.

Pietro, Damansara Endah - Not only is it a lovely location but Pietro has some of the most delicious Italian creations in the city. Don't miss chef's Seafood Soup - delicious!
